Two men accused of running off from a taxi without paying the fare have been identified and traced thanks to an appeal across social media.

Wiltshire Police were able to access a CCTV still of the two suspects, which they posted on their Facebook page.

The post led to a number of leads, allowing officers to eventually pinpoint the men and their whereabouts.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Following our appeal earlier today regarding identification of two men not paying their taxi fare in Devizes, we are pleased to confirm that we have received a large amount of information from the public.

"This information has led us to identifying two suspects, who will be spoken to in due course. At this stage no arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing. Many thanks."
