A joint taxi compliance operation has been carried out by City of Wolverhampton Council alongside Dudley Council, DVSA and West Midlands Police.
The exercise saw a high number of private hire vehicles stopped and inspected to ensure drivers and vehicles were meeting licensing and road safety standards.
The Chair of Wolverhampton Council’s licensing committee, together with colleagues, also attended the operation. Officers from both local authorities worked with police and the DVSA to check compliance on matters including documentation, vehicle condition and passenger safety.
A spokesperson from City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection said: “Wolverhampton Council Taxi Compliance team carried out a joint operation with partners Dudley Council, DVSA, West Midlands Police and the Chair of Wolverhampton Council licensing and her colleagues. A high number of private hire vehicles were checked for compliance. Stay safe.”
These operations are part of ongoing enforcement activity across the West Midlands to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and that licensed drivers operate within the law.
