The City of Wolverhampton Council’s East Midlands Compliance Team carried out a series of vehicle checks this week as part of National Licensing Week.
The day began at Leicester Train Station, where checks were made on licensed vehicles transporting delegates to the Institute of Licensing Summer Training Conference.
The team then moved on to East Midlands Parkway Station for further inspections before concluding their activity at the Download Festival. There, they ensured that all Wolverhampton-licensed vehicles were roadworthy and fully compliant while transporting festivalgoers to the event.
A council spokesperson confirmed the activity formed part of their ongoing commitment to ensuring safety and licensing standards across key public events and transport hubs.
A City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection spokesperson said: “A busy day, as part of the National Licensing Week, for our East Midlands Compliance Team. First, they were at Leicester Train Station, carrying out checks on licensed vehicles as delegates arrived for the Institute of Licensing Summer Training Conference.”
In a follow up comment they added: “Next, more checks at East Midlands Parkway Station and finally, on to the Download festival, ensuring that @WolvesCouncil vehicles were roadworthy and compliant for all attendees arriving at the festival.”
