Wolverhampton City Council compliance officers joined forces with colleagues from Doncaster Council this week to carry out spot checks on licensed private hire vehicles in the area.
Seven Wolverhampton-licensed private hire vehicles were stopped during the exercise. All were found to be fully compliant with licensing requirements.
However, officers reminded drivers to wear their identification badges while working. Although the drivers had badges with them, several were not displaying them at the time of inspection.
The joint operation highlights the ongoing collaboration between local authorities to ensure that vehicles operating across council boundaries continue to meet standards and keep passengers safe.
A City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection spokesperson said on social media: ”Today, Compliance Officers have been working with Licensing colleagues from Doncaster Council carrying out compliance checks on licensed vehicles. 7 City of Wolverhampton Council PHVs found fully compliant, but drivers, please wear your badges when working, you had them with you!“
