Wolverhampton licensed minicab driver found with shockingly worn tyre while working in Liverpool
A Wolverhampton licensed private hire vehicle (PHV) driver working in Liverpool faces penalty points after enforcement officers uncovered a shockingly worn tyre.
On Saturday night, City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection and Merseyside Police conducted enforcement checks on licensed PHVs and their drivers at the Reminisce Festival in St. Helens and Liverpool City Centre.
Inspectors and officers discovered one vehicle with exposed cords on a tyre, indicating severe wear and potential safety risks. As a direct consequence, authorities took immediate action by suspending the minicab’s licence.
City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection said on social media: “This shows the importance of checking your tyres regularly! Cords exposed, points on your driving licence and private hire vehicle licence suspended in Liverpool tonight. Keeping our communities safe and getting us all home safely.”
