Compliance officers carried out spot checks on Wolverhampton-licensed private hire vehicles operating in Warwickshire last weekend.
The inspections were conducted to confirm that vehicles and drivers met the required standards set out by City of Wolverhampton Council’s licensing authority. Officers checked driver documents, vehicle condition, and general compliance with licensing regulations.
A spokesperson for WV Public Protection said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to monitor vehicles licensed outside local areas but working within them. Wolverhampton-licensed vehicles often operate across wider regions due to current national licensing rules that allow cross-border working.
The council continues to focus heavily on its taxi enforcement and compliance activity in several parts of the UK as part of its continued monitoring of licence holders.
