Three men from London and Essex have been charged in connection with the robbery of a Swindon taxi driver.

The offenders, who have now been named by Wiltshire Police, were traced, arrested and remanded by police to appear before Swindon Magistrates' Court on Friday 6 March.

The charges follow the theft of cash from the taxi driver on Corporation Street, Swindon, on Sunday 1 March.

The driver was also allegedly threatened with a machete by his attackers, who then got into a getaway car and fled the scene.

The three men facing charges of robbery are Jordan Collins, 24, of Tower Hamlets, London, Landen McCarthy, 31, of Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, and Mitchell Rhodes, 27, of no fixed address, Essex.
