Škoda has upgraded the infotainment systems in its all-electric Enyaq models running software version 4.0 and higher, alongside the Elroq, adding gaming, video streaming and integrated music services as part of a wider digital push.
The update introduces the AirConsole gaming platform, the Škoda Play video service and native Spotify integration. All three features form part of the Media Streaming Package, which is provided free of charge for the first three years in new vehicles. The additions are designed to enhance the in-car experience during charging stops while maintaining functionality only when the vehicle is parked for gaming and video playback.
AirConsole, developed by Swiss company N Dream, launches with 15 games including Tetris, available exclusively in Škoda vehicles. When parked, the infotainment screen functions as the gaming display, with a user’s smartphone serving as the controller. Both single-player and multi-player modes are supported, with audio routed through the vehicle’s sound system. Customers require a Škoda ID, an active MyŠkoda account and a smartphone internet connection to access the service.
Škoda Play, built using the 3Ready Automotive solution from 3SS, delivers structured news and educational content from providers including Euronews, NASA+, CNN, Reuters and Bloomberg. Video streaming is restricted to when the vehicle is stationary. Spotify has also been embedded directly into the infotainment system, allowing drivers to access music and podcasts through the vehicle’s data connection without pairing a smartphone.
New infotainment features roll out to Enyaq and Elroq models as Traffication app adds safety alert in UK and Netherlands
Separately, the Traffication application has been updated with an Emergency Vehicle Approaching alert developed with HAAS Alert and its Safety Cloud platform. Emergency vehicles transmitting active warning light data share their real-time position and direction of travel, which is processed via the Škoda backend to generate on-screen alerts showing distance and direction. The feature, already live in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, will next expand to the Czech Republic and Belgium, where Škoda vehicles will be the first to support the function.
The MyŠkoda app has also enhanced its AI-supported route planner, enabling drivers to specify charging preferences such as stopping near particular types of locations, limiting sessions to Powerpass stations or setting a minimum battery level on arrival. The updates reflect growing competition among manufacturers to differentiate electric vehicle offerings through digital services and connected safety features.
