Minicab firm suing cyclist for damage caused in serious incident

A cyclist who sustained serious injuries in a collision with a minicab is being sued for the damage caused to the vehicle.

The cyclist, Sasha Evans, was hit by a Keen Group minicab in the early hours back in January 2015 whilst travelling to a friend's house.  On impact, Mr Evans’s head broke the windscreen of the Ford Galexy minicab and suffered serious facial injuries, a fractured leg and broken cheekbone. It is claimed that Mr Evans was in hospital for 6 days receiving treatment for the injuries sustained and had to take a further four months off work upon his release.

The cyclist chose not to take the matter any further as witnesses present declined to give statements to police. However, the minicab company involved chose to sue Mr Evans for the damage caused in the incident.

Upon learning of the claim, Evans has now begun a counter-claim for approximately £10,000 which is said to cover his loss of earnings and the injuries occurred because of the collision.

The claim is due to go to court this week.
