Autonomous air taxis are coming

If you thought that autonomous air taxis are the stuff of science fiction and have no place in society, except in Blade Runner,  then think again.

Boeing's HorizonX arm is coming to Dubai,  in fact they have been in dialogue with the Emirates Regional Transport Authority outlining how they will facilitate an autonomous, flying taxi service by 2020.

Flight Global reported that Steve Nordlund, Boeing's vice-president for HorizonX said “We fully support their vision for innovation in transportation,” "Boeing’s specific role in fulfilling that vision is still open to discussion."

However if HorizonX decide to proceed it seems that the UAE is going to be the testing ground for this cutting edge form of transportation.
