LEVC look overseas as interest grows in EV taxi

The capital's taxi manufacturers LEVC could be striking a deal with a second city to supply's its new electric eCity cab to  according to reports in Reuters

LEVC Chief Executive Chris Gubbey said the Coventry based company were hoping to tie up a second European city by the end of the year. This follows news that Amsterdam have ordered 225 vehicles to assist transporting disabled and elderly passengers. 

“Quite soon hopefully there will be an announcement on the second one after Amsterdam. We’re getting very close now,” he said. LEVC recently invested £300m in a new manufacturing plant in Coventry and hopes to sell roughly half of the vehicles produced to overseas buyers by 2020. The firm owned by Chinese giants Geely hope to produces other vehicles using similar technology.
