Lord Bassam resigns following taxi expenses scandal

Yesterday, in TaxiPoint we revealed that Labour's Chief Whip in the House of Lords had been caught up in an expenses scandal.

In a swift turn of events we can now reveal that Lord Bassam will be resigning from his position in January or February 2018.

Lord Bassam caused controversy after it was revealed that the peer had claimed £41,000 in taxi and rail fares, despite claiming an overnight allowance.

The peer has stated that he will return the money amd will step down as soon as a replacememt has been elected for his position.
