Rapid charging points set for Heathrow feeder park in December 2017

Heathrow airport has announced that seven rapid charging points for the new electric Taxis will be installed in it's feeder park by the end of December. Londons biggest airport was one of the first companies to join the Climate Group's EV100 initiative. The goal is to make all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes electric by 2030. The new charging points will cater for, TfL, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's, policy that states all newly licensed black taxis must be electric or plug-in hybrids, as of January 2018. The rapid charging stations are said to charge vehicles three times faster than any average charging point. Hundreds of London taxis pass through Heathrow's feeder park everyday, and as more electric taxis join the fleet, it's only a matter of time before many more rapid charging stations will need to be added. Â
