Day One: Cabbies descend on Elephant and Castle

Perry Richardson

Large numbers of London cabbies descended on Elephant and Castle to protest against a series of grievances against regulator Transport for London.  The protest is the first of five planned demonstrations taking place in various locations throughout the working week.

A spokesperson from TfL said: "The law stipulates that operators can continue until any appeals process is exhausted. “We urge the organisers to call the protests off."

Further protest locations include Marble Arch, Parliament Square and London Bridge. The final location has yet to be announced and further ongoing action has not been ruled out.
