London Taxi driver deemed a hero by heartbroken family

A London black taxi driver who navigated a family through the capitals ever increasing maze of traffic has been labelled a hero, after they had received the terrible news that one of their daughters had been found face down in her bed. The family who were at Oxford street when they received the heartbreaking news, hailed the cabbie to ferry them to Herne Hill, South London. On route, the driver was said to of stayed calm amidst the panick and was able to navigate the fastest route. As reported in the Evening Standard , on arrival to the address, paramedics were waiting to deliver the heartbreaking news that their daughter had died. The London cab driver broke down in tears and refused to take payment. Mr Shaw, the father of the deceased said: "Throughout the journey, the taxi driver was very calm. He was really calm, going as fast as he could without endangering us or others. He was such a lovely guy" Mr Shaw went on to add: "People always say that black cab drivers are too expensive or they do this or that but we were in such a state and he showed us so much compassion and how kindness can make a difference to other people, especially when they are in their darkest moments " Olivia Shaw, who was 24 years of age was found by her twin sister, Izzy. The cause of death is unclear but the family believe it could be due to an underlying heart condition. We would like to send our deepest condolences to the Shaw family at this terribly difficult time, and say to the Taxi driver, whoever you are and wherever you are, well done, you are a credit to the trade, and a kind hearted person.
