West Brom players quizzed over stolen taxi

Four West Bromwich Albion footballers are being questioned by spanish police after a taxi was stolen from a McDonald's drive through and dumped outside the players 5 star hotel in Barcelona.

The West Brom squad are camped in Barcelona,  undertaking warm weather training.

A West Brom statement said: “The club can confirm that four senior players were involved in an incident during this week’s mid-winter training trip to Spain. “The club has instigated its own investigation into the incident and the players will be subject to the full rigours of our internal disciplinary procedures. “Until such time as that investigation has been completed, the club will not be making any further comment.”

The Baggies are currently rooted to the foot of the Premier League five points adrift of Stoke City and looking as odds on favourites for relegation.

Alan Pardew's side have since left the city and are now back in the UK.
