A global phenomenon: Uber stuck on stairs in San Francisco

A vehicle working on the ride-hailing app Uber got stuck on a flight of stairs in San Francisco yesterday.

The driver is believed to have been driving  down a pedestrian area, before trying to negotiate the stairs just after midday much to the shock of onlookers.  Management at the nearby supermarket Safeway’s were called upon to request a pick up vehicle to free the stranded car. However, the vehicle remained rooted to the stairs after 30 minutes trying to set the white salon car free. It is unknown whether the car was freed. Local news agency KRON4 captures the vehicle via their Twitter account:

Whilst this might have shocked locals in San Francisco, here in the UK the public have become all too familiar with the sight as the drivers take door to door service to a whole new level.
