Four arrested after cabbie stabbed in Gateshead

Four people have been arrested after a  suspected carjacking in Gateshead left a cabbie seriously injured with stab wounds.

Police were called to Hodkins Gardens in Felling in the early hours of Tuesday morning after it had been reported that the taxi driver had been assaulted and his car had been stolen.

Police arrested four people a short while later and have subsequently released them whilst the case is being investigated.

The 24 year old cabbie remains in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have requested that anybody with any information should contact police on 101, quoting log 67 15/05/18.
