Police appeal: Driver's vehicle robbed at knifepoint by three passengers in Essex

Michael Murphy

Essex police are appealing for anyone with information in relation to an armed robbery that took place in Loughton on Saturday December 22 at around 11:30pm. Police have said that a taxi driver (possibly a private hire driver) picked up three men in the Berecroft area of Harlow and took them to Oakwood Hill, Loughton. On arrival to their destination, the men used a knife to threaten the driver. They forced him out of his vehicle, a grey Renault Megane, which they then drove off in. The incident was first reported in the Essex Live. If you saw or heard of anything in relation to the theft you are asked to call 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/187764/18. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
