Drive-by shooting on Toyota minicab in South London

A minicab passenger was wounded in a drive-by shooting in West Norwood on Thursday 28th February. At around 8pm a private hire driver visited a South London police station, reporting that a male passenger he was carrying had been shot.

It is understood that the driver picked up his fare, driving to Lakeview Road where he stopped for a period.

A car pulled up beside the Toyota minicab and shots were fired into the back of the vehicle. The car then fled the scene. The victim asked the driver to take him to another location, where he left the car on foot.

He was later traced by Metropolitan Police officers. His injuries were not deemed life-threatening or life-changing. No arrests have been made, as detectives from the Met's Trident and Area Crime Command continue to investigate.
