Knife-wielding robber who attacked cab drivers jailed
A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to several counts of robbery and attempted robbery on both cabbies and shop workers.
26 year old Owen Curtis, from Lancashire Road, Partington, threatened a number of cab drivers and shop workers with kitchen knives, yielding a haul amounting to hundreds of pounds.
In August 2018, Curtis ordered a cab from Stretford Road in Urmston. The cabbie was asked if he could change a £20 note and was subsequently robbed by Curtis.
Ten days later Curtis repeated the offence on another cab driver.
He also committed knife-point robberies from two shops. During a robbery attempt on a third shop, the thug was punched in the face and left empty handed.
Curtis received a nine year prison sentence after pleading guilty to four robberies and one attempted robbery at Minshull Street Crown Court
