Parliament Square taxi protests set to continue “on tour”

Black cab drivers who have been protesting in Parliament Square for over two months have decided to take their grievances “on tour”. Cabbies in London have brought roads in the Westminster area to a standstill as they protest against the Mayor of London who they claim plans to ban taxis from driving on key parts of the capital’s road network. The message from the protesters is very much where buses go, taxis go. So far both Transport for London and City Hall officials have failed to meet the demands of the organisers by allowing licensed taxis the same access as London’s buses. This Monday saw a number of cabbies protesting on Old Street roundabout and Rotunda respectively. The protests take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. As of this week the protests have moved from Parliament Square to un-named destinations only shared with drivers privately via social media.
