Police appeal for help after Corby cabbie robbed at gunpoint


Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint in Corby, Northamptonshire.
The robbery which took place on Saturday 1 June, at approximately 1.20am, happened after a taxi was called to pick up a woman in Kensington Walk. However when the cabbie arrived, a man got into the back of the car and produced a gun and demanded money.
A second man then appeared and opened the driver’s door, removing the vehicle keys. The pair then demanded the driver hand over his wallet, which was then discarded nearby, after the two men ran into the estate.
The suspects were both described as being 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing dark sportswear type clothing. One of the robbers had his face partially covered.
