‘Serious’ road collision nearby Parliament destroys minicab vehicle

A ‘serious’ road collision nearby Westminster involving a private hire vehicle and a licensed black cab was reported yesterday. The accident happened midday on Wednesday 14 August on the busy Parliament Street leading into Parliament Square. The road had to be closed due to the crash for a period of time.
Traffic officers at the scene confirmed the collision took place between a private hire vehicle and a black cab. Images of the black Hyundia minicab showed extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. There are currently no other details linked to how the incident occurred. Injuries were confirmed not to be life threatening or life changing. A Metropolitan Roads and Transport Police spokesperson said via Twitter: “Traffic Officers from #CentralRPT are on scene dealing with a serious car v's car collison on Parliment Street, SW1. “The collison was between a PHV and a Licenced Black Taxi. Injuries are now confirmed not to be life threatening or life changing and the road reopened.”
