Sandwell cabbie loses licence after being deemed not fit and proper
A Sandwell cabbie has had his licence revoked after he was deemed not a fit and proper person to hold a licence by the council.
The council decided to revoke the unnamed man's licence after two incidents had taken place, one of which he failed to inform authorities of within a specific time period.
The incidents, which were both alcohol related, occured within a few days of each other.
The driver initially appeared before a committee hearing on 23 April regarding the first incident which resulted in his licence being suspended for four weeks.
However, officials were made aware of a second incident a few days later which the driver failed to disclose, leading to the revocation.
According to The Express and Star, the driver revealed in the meeting that he is receiving help for alcohol related issues. He also accepted that he had breached his licensing conditions by failing to report the second incident.
