Police appeal after taxi driver stabbed multiple times during terrifying robbery

West Midlands Police are investigating after a taxi driver was lured to a street in Druids Heath and then stabbed during a robbery. The driver went to Saxelby Close to pick up a passenger at around 11pm on Saturday (24 August).
A man got into the vehicle and then stabbed the driver several times before fleeing with cash and his mobile phone. The victim, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious hand injuries. Detective Sergeant Adam Marshall, from Force CID, said: "This was a savage attack on a man who was going about his line of work. "He was lured to the street and stabbed; leaving him with potentially life-changing hand injuries.
