A number of men jump from vehicles including Uber marked car as violent gang fight erupts

Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a gang street fight erupted involving a number of men.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may be able to assist them in connection with the reports of the men fighting with weapons, including bats and poles, in Northdown Road, Aspley.

The disorder happened at around 4pm on Monday 11 May.

It is believed one male victim suffered minor injuries during the incident and that individuals involved in the disturbance left the scene in various vehicles.

Images show a black Uber vehicle parked at the scene, which is believed to have arrived with some of the men accused of fighting.

With the vehicle parked partially on the pavement with its window down and no driver present behind the wheel, police are asking for anyone who may know the men in the images to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to understand the circumstances of this incident.

"We are urging anyone who witnessed what happened or anyone who recognises any of the people pictured to please come forward and let us know, as this will help us piece together how this disorder came about.

“This type of violence won’t be tolerated and we will do all we can to investigate this incident thoroughly and see that the culprits are dealt with accordingly.

"We believe that the people involved travelled in a number of vehicles, including a black [Uber] taxi, a grey Audi and silver Volkswagen Passat as pictured. If you recognise them or recall seeing them in the area around the time of the incident then please get in touch as you may have information that could help our investigation.”

Anyone who recognises the people or vehicles pictured is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 477 of 11 May 2020, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
