Road policing officers are appealing for information after a fatal collision on the A92 involving a Ford taxi people carrier and a pedestrian.
Police said the crash happened at around 3.10am on Thursday, 23 April 2026, just north of Murcar. Emergency services attended, but the 41-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin has been informed, according to Police Scotland. No further details about the pedestrian or the circumstances leading up to the collision have been released.
The A92 was closed to allow investigations to take place and officers said the road was expected to remain shut for a number of hours, affecting early morning traffic on the route.
Police Scotland has asked anyone with information about a fatal collision near Murcar in the early hours of Thursday 23 April to come forward.
Police Scotland is now seeking information from anyone who may have seen the collision or events leading up to it. Witness accounts and any relevant dashcam footage could prove important as officers work to establish the full circumstances.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0317 of 23 April.
Road Policing Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and we're offering them support at this difficult time.
"It's vital we find out exactly what happened and I'm appealing for the public's help. Were you in the area around the time and saw what happened? Did you see a pedestrian on the A92 and have information which may help? Do you have dash-cam footage from the area which has captured anything significant? If you do, please get in touch."
