Addison Lee has launched its international ground transport platform in more than 40 business travel destinations across the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The company said further locations are due to go live.

The rollout gives UK customers access to private hire, taxi and executive car services in destinations including New York, Paris and Singapore. Bookings can be made through Addison Lee’s app, website or contact centre.

The service draws on ComfortDelGro Group fleets in markets including Singapore and Australia, alongside a network of international partners. Addison Lee said partners are selected against its service quality, reliability and professionalism standards, with the aim of providing a consistent experience across destinations.

The launch comes as business travel demand rises. Research commissioned by Addison Lee found that 52% of international business travellers had travelled more frequently over the past year.

Respondents also pointed to the value of in-person meetings: 80% said international travel helps build relationships that would not otherwise be possible, while 78% said face-to-face meetings abroad produce better business outcomes than virtual alternatives.

The research found that travellers lose an average of 39 working hours a year to unproductive transit time. Four in five respondents said they rely on multiple providers and platforms to organise one international journey, while 43% said it was difficult to find overseas transport providers that met their standards.

Six in 10 respondents said business trips now feel higher-stakes than before hybrid working became widespread. Asked what would improve the experience, 34% cited a single platform for managing trip arrangements and 33% wanted to work more productively in transit. The latter figure rose to 44% among C-suite and board-level respondents.

Addison Lee, part of the ComfortDelGro Group, said the platform is intended to reduce the complexity of arranging ground transport across international trips. The announcement did not specify the full list of destinations, partner companies or a timetable for the next locations to launch.

Wesley Bishop, Chief Customer Officer at Addison Lee, said: “Our customers have told us they would benefit from a single platform that brings together the long and complex international journeys that remain so valuable to businesses. Managing travel across multiple cities, countries and suppliers often creates friction and unnecessary complexity – and that is exactly what we’re aiming to reduce, so travellers can spend less time on logistics and more time on the purpose of the trip itself.

“Demand for international business travel remains strong among those who do it regularly, and the benefits it delivers are widely recognised. But as the frequency of travel has increased, so too have the pressures on travellers. By combining the convenience of a single booking platform with a carefully selected network of local partners who share our commitment to quality, reliability and customer service, our job is to give customers confidence that the journey will be handled, with the same standards and accountability they expect from us in London, wherever they land.”
