Arrest made and baseball bat located following Bristol taxi driver attack



One person has been arrested following an incident in the Brislington area of Bristol on Sunday 21 May which left a taxi driver injured.


According to police reports, the driver dropped the group off at a residential property where an altercation ensued, resulting in damage to a car and the building. The male then pursued the group back towards the taxi wielding a bladed article. During the incident, the driver sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

Police were alerted to the incident by officers on patrol at 9.15pm. Paramedics attended the scene and took the driver to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the youths reportedly left the scene, armed with baseball bats and other weapons.


Officers conducted a search of the surrounding area, supported by a helicopter from the National Police Air Service. Overnight, a baseball bat was recovered from the Callington Road area.

A 17-year-old male was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident at 11.50pm and remains in custody. Investigations to identify all those involved are ongoing.
