British Transport Police seek man in connection with Newport Station taxi driver assault
British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of a man they wish to identify following an assault on a taxi driver at Newport train station.
The incident occurred at approximately 7.15pm on 16 July. A group of men entered a taxi stationed at the rank outside the Newport station. After a brief exchange with the driver, the situation escalated, resulting in the driver being assaulted.
Officers believe the man in the image may hold information crucial to the ongoing investigation. Members of the public who recognise the individual are urged to assist by contacting BTP. They can text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, referencing 659 of 16 July.
