Cleveland Police appeal after Thornaby woman last seen getting into taxi five weeks ago

Cleveland Police have issued an appeal for information after a 45-year-old woman from Thornaby was last seen getting into a taxi bound for the Middlesbrough area.
Melanie Kett was last seen on Wednesday 7 January on Field Close in Thornaby, when she entered a taxi heading towards Middlesbrough. Officers say that while there has been intermittent communication with family, she has not been seen and enquiries remain ongoing to confirm that she is safe and well.
In a public appeal, Cleveland Police added that officers “need to ascertain that she is safe and well” and are urging her to make direct contact.
Police are also asking for assistance from anyone who may have seen Kett or has information about her whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference SE26023259.
