‘CONGRATULATED’: Fife taxi drivers praised for high level of vehicle maintenance

Taxi drivers and vehicle owners in Fife were ‘congratulated’ by the council after maintaining a high level of taxi inspection pass rates in the region.

The annual report for the Glenrothes zone was revealed to Fife Council’s Regulation and Licensing Committee on 14 February.

The report gave details of the results of inspections carried out on vehicles operating in October, November and December 2022.

Of the 92 vehicles licensed in Glenrothes, 89 passed first time, which equated to 97%, 3 failed and passed on re-test.

The percentage pass rate in 2021 was 97%.

Billy Ferguson, Fife Council Service and Fleet Services Manager, said: “I’m delighted to report that the first time pass rate has remained the same since 2021. The Operators should be congratulated for their first class efforts in continuing to maintain their cars to a very high standard.”
