Cumbria Police are asking taxi drivers and the public to help trace Marie Conaghan amid concerns for her welfare.
Cumbria Police have issued an urgent appeal to locate missing Workington woman Marie Conaghan, who was last seen entering a taxi between 5pm and 6pm on 18 August 2026.
Officers believe the taxi travelled to Carlisle and that Marie may currently be in the city. Taxi and private hire drivers who were operating in the area at the time are being encouraged to check whether they recognise her description.
Marie has long, dark brown hair and is believed to be wearing a green coat or jacket and baggy jeans. She was carrying a black rucksack, a multicoloured Morrisons bag for life and a suitcase.
Police said they are concerned for Marie’s welfare. Anyone who sees her should call 999 immediately.
Other information that could assist the investigation can be reported through the Cumbria Police website, quoting incident 192 of 18 August 2026. Information can also be provided by calling 101.
