Curb, a North American taxi technology and ride-hailing platform for licensed taxis, has launched Curb Flow in San Diego, extending its network across California’s key transport markets.
The expansion aims to improve passenger access to licensed taxi rides and streamline driver operations by uniting app bookings, fleet dispatches, and street hails within one integrated system. The move is expected to improve mobility across San Diego and its surrounding communities as demand for transport continues to grow.
Curb Flow has already delivered notable results in other major Californian cities. In Los Angeles, driver earnings have increased by 20% since launch, while in San Francisco, drivers using the platform are spending 26% more time on trips and completing 16% more hired miles. By reducing idle time, the system increases fleet efficiency and overall driver productivity.
San Diego’s strong visitor numbers have placed increasing pressure on local transport. More than 32 million visitors arrived in 2024, with major events such as San Diego Comic-Con attracting over 135,000 people. Curb Flow is expected to help meet this demand by shortening passenger wait times, improving ride availability, and boosting driver earnings through more effective fleet management.
The company’s partnership model continues to integrate with leading mobility providers such as Uber. Through this collaboration, ride requests made via the Uber app can be directed to licensed taxi drivers on the Curb platform, ensuring a balance between innovation and traditional fleet support.
Curb’s expansion in California reflects its broader growth across North America, with Curb Flow already operating in major cities including New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C. Since the platform’s launch in 2023, Curb’s nationwide network volume has grown fourfold, with further market entries expected in the months ahead.
