The taxi industry has long been a fixture of both life in cities and rural life, offering trusted travel and a regulated alternative to private hire services. But with changing habits among younger generations, questions are now being asked about whether the industry needs to refresh its image to stay relevant.


Younger people are growing up with apps as their main access point to transport. Convenience, perceived value and glossy brand marketing weigh heavily in their decisions. While taxis still play a key role in many cities, they face a challenge in being viewed as a modern transport choice by those under 35.
