Dorset Police release image after taxi driver assaulted in Bournemouth

Dorset Police have released an image of a man they want to identify following an assault on a taxi driver in Bournemouth.
The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Wednesday 8 April 2026, after the driver picked up a group of passengers in Westover Road.
Dorset Police are appealing for help to identify a man after a taxi driver was punched during a fare in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police said one of the passengers was repeatedly shaking the driver’s seat. The taxi driver pulled over and asked the group to leave the vehicle.
The male offender then punched the driver in the side of the face and shouted abuse at him.
Police Constable Jack Tweed, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a man who was just trying to do his job. I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the image to please get in touch.”
