Neighbourhood officers issued six parking tickets in March after targeting vehicles obstructing taxi ranks and other restricted bays in Wisbech town centre.
According to a statement published by Policing Fenland, officers were “back out responding to your concerns” on Friday and over the weekend, carrying out enforcement activity in Broad Street and Station Road.
The tickets were issued for a range of offences, with parking in a taxi rank highlighted among those highlighted. Officers also fined motorists for parking on double yellow lines and for using a disabled bay without a permit.
Taxi rank enforcement formed a key part of the operation. Vehicles parked unlawfully in designated rank spaces can prevent licensed taxis from accessing authorised pick-up points, particularly in central locations where ranks support rail links, retail areas and evening economy trade.

For licensed drivers, blocked ranks can disrupt operations and reduce access to immediate work. Ranks are established under local traffic regulation orders and are reserved exclusively for hackney carriage vehicles during operational hours. Unauthorised parking within these bays is subject to enforcement action.
Policing Fenland confirmed that officers on dedicated patrols to address anti-social behaviour also issued tickets to cars parked obstructively elsewhere in Wisbech. The enforcement activity was carried out in response to concerns raised by members of the public.
No further details were provided on whether additional patrols are scheduled.
