West Midlands Police have charged a fourth man over the murder of a teenager who was shot dead in a taxi earlier this year.
Atif Khan was arrested in London on Monday 11 October in connection with the killing of Kimani Martin in the early hours of 20 June.
The 25-year-old has now been charged with Kimani’s murder and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court this morning.
West Midlands Police have already charged three other men with murder. Kisharne Campbell and Usman Amjad – both of no fixed address – and 19-year-old Luke Adams, from Walsall, are now on remand in prison.
A 25-year-old man remains on police bail and police enquiries continue.
Kimani was shot with a shotgun at 1.30am while he was in a taxi in Dudley Road East, Tividale, at 1.30am.
Three Special Constables who were nearby came across the scene and tended to the teenager but nothing could be done to save him. He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
A tribute from Kimani’s family described him as “jovial, loving and caring”.
The police force continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact their homicide team.
