insurd Limited has reported significant growth across its business as it marks its fourth anniversary, with gross written premium rising sharply and its footprint in the taxi insurance market expanding.
The Flint-based broker said premium volumes increased from £807,000 in 2022 to £13.3 million in 2025, underlining its rapid development since launch.
The company, founded in 2022, has also scaled its workforce from three employees to 36, building out teams across customer service, compliance, IT development, accounting and marketing. Management roles have largely been filled through internal promotions, reflecting a strategy focused on developing talent in-house as the business grows.
Growth has been accompanied by a broadening of Insurd’s product offering. Initially launched with a narrower insurance proposition, the broker now provides a wider suite of personal and commercial products. Its commercial lines include taxi, minibus and fleet insurance, alongside business public liability and motor trade cover, positioning the firm within key segments of the UK’s transport and small business insurance markets.

Digital capability has been a central component of the company’s expansion strategy. insurd has developed an online quote-and-buy platform across multiple products, including taxi insurance, aimed at improving accessibility and reducing friction for customers. This shift aligns with broader industry trends towards digital distribution and self-service platforms in commercial insurance.
The firm has also strengthened relationships with insurers, including a recent collaboration with Admiral. insurd was selected as one of three brokers to support the launch of Admiral’s new taxi insurance product, which went live in December 2025. The partnership is seen as a signal of growing market credibility as competition intensifies in the specialist motor segment.
Based in Flint, North Wales, insurd Limited said its expansion has also contributed to local employment, particularly in an area with historically high office vacancy rates. The company noted that much of its workforce is drawn from the surrounding community, adding a regional economic dimension to its growth story.
Craig Shaw, Director of insurd, said: “Reaching our fourth anniversary is a huge moment for us. We’ve built the business around strong foundations—great people, strong insurer relationships, and a focus on making insurance simpler for customers. The growth we’ve seen across premium, team size, and product range reflects that. We’re excited about what’s ahead as we continue to scale in 2026 and beyond.”
