Kent Police seek help following taxi passenger sexual assault incident

Kent Police have intensified their investigation into a reported sexual assault that occurred in Newington, releasing a CCTV image of a man who might have crucial information.

The incident, which took place on Playstool Road around 3.40 am on Saturday 16 December 2023, involved an alleged inappropriate physical contact by a taxi passenger. According to reports, the man in question leaned across and touched a woman over her clothes in an unacceptable manner, accompanied by an obscene comment.

In an effort to advance their investigation, Kent Police have now released a CCTV image of a man who they believe could significantly assist with their enquiries. The image, captured in the vicinity of the incident, is hoped to lead to the identification of the individual involved.
