London EV Company (LEVC) has announced a restructuring of its UK leadership team, with Alex Nan stepping aside as chief executive and Tony Chi appointed acting CEO as part of a wider strategic shift within parent group Geely.

The move sees Nan continue in his role as chairman while taking on broader responsibilities across Geely’s international operations. The company said the change is intended to strengthen coordination between LEVC and Geely’s global business units, as the group looks to scale its commercial electric mobility ambitions.

Tony Chi, who has more than two decades of experience within Geely Group, will now lead LEVC’s day-to-day operations. His background in overseas markets is expected to support closer alignment between the UK-based manufacturer and Geely’s wider international strategy, particularly as competition intensifies in the zero-emission commercial vehicle sector.

To support the transition, Lee Boyce has been appointed to a newly created general manager role. Boyce, a former manufacturing director at LEVC with over 30 years of OEM experience, is expected to play a key operational role, working alongside Chi to maintain production and development continuity.

The leadership changes also include the departure of Chris Allen, who is stepping down after six years with the company. LEVC acknowledged his contribution during a period that has seen the manufacturer expand its electrified taxi offering and grow its international footprint.

Nan has led LEVC since 2021, overseeing a period of strategic repositioning as the company shifted focus towards electrified commercial mobility solutions. This has included continued rollout of its TX electric taxi platform and efforts to expand into new markets, including recent international partnerships.

The leadership transition comes at a time when demand for zero-emission capable taxis and commercial vehicles continues to grow, driven by tightening emissions regulations and urban clean air policies across the UK and globally.

Chris Allen, Managing Director, LEVC said: “Leading this business has been a deeply rewarding experience for me personally. Together with a fantastic team, we have worked hard to build a strong and stable foundation, deliver against our targets and prepare the company for the next phase of growth. Tony brings a wealth of experience and I have no doubt he and the team will take the business forward with renewed focus and clarity as it prepares for the next steps.”

Alex Nan, Chairman, LEVC said: “This leadership transition positions LEVC strongly, combining experienced strategic oversight with greater coordination of Geely Group resources to further support the development of LEVC in the UK. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Chris Allen, his leadership has been instrumental in navigating challenging periods for the business. I look forward to working closely with Tony and Lee in their new roles to drive LEVC forward in the UK and beyond.”
