Liverpool City Council licensed taxi driver fined £300 and given penalty points over ’serious’ tyre offence

A Liverpool Hackney Carriage driver has been found guilty of a tyre offence following a prosecution brought before the courts.


Liverpool City Council Licensing said the driver was sentenced to three penalty points, a £300 fine and ordered to pay £150 in costs.

The licensing authority did not provide further details about the condition of the tyre or the circumstances that led to the offence being identified.


In a statement, Liverpool City Council Licensing said: “Defective tyres are dangerous and we take this offence seriously.”


Regular vehicle checks form an important part of maintaining roadworthiness within the licensed taxi fleet.
