London Councils award £10 million further year contract to ComCab as supplier of subsidised taxi and private hire transport

ComCab London has been named in a £10 million contract award notice covering the capital’s Taxicard transport service.
The notice identifies ComCab (London) Ltd as the supplier for the Pan-London Taxi Card Service.
The contract is valued at £10 million excluding VAT, with a stated start date of 31 March 2027 and an end date of 31 March 2028.
The procurement is recorded as a direct award. The reason for using that procedure could not be independently established from the accessible information.
Taxi-card provides subsidised journeys in licensed taxis and private hire vehicles for London residents with serious mobility impairments or severe sight loss.
ComCab is the existing service provider, supplying journeys through a combination of black cabs and private hire vehicles.
London Councils previously confirmed that the existing contract would expire in 2027 and that work was under way with Transport for London on future service arrangements.
The authority’s June committee papers stated that TfL contributed £6.5 million towards the scheme, with London boroughs providing approximately £2.5 million.
