London minicab driver convicted for taking booking without an operator’s licence and no insurance

A London private hire driver was today convicted for having no insurance and illegally accepting a booking without a valid operator’s licence.


The minicab driver, Mustafa Bouharrak, was pulled over in west London’s Hammersmith for accepting the booking from passengers.

Today at Westminster Magistrates' Court Mr Bouharrak was found guilty of the offences.


The driver licensed by Transport for London (TfL) was handed 8 penalty points to his licence and must pay £514 in fines and costs. Due to totting up of penalty points the driver was subsequently disqualified from driving for 6 months.

According to police sources, transport regulators TfL will now consider the private hire licence held by Mr Bouharrak.

Metropolitan Roads and Transport Policing Command said via social media:


"CabsUnit Court Result.
Mustafa BOUHARRAK was convicted at Westminster Magistrates for accepting a booking without an operator’s licence and no insurance in Hammersmith.
- 8 DVLA penalty points and subsequently disqualified for 6 months for totting up
- £514 fines and costs"
