London taxi drivers are being urged to remain vigilant as the capital's most notorious fare-dodger continues to evade payment, this time targeting a hotel in King’s Cross as his escape route.

The Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA) has issued a fresh warning after reports surfaced that the individual, known for his repeated attempts to avoid paying taxi fares, has now set his sights on the Alhambra Hotel on Argyle Street. According to the LTDA, the suspect exits the taxi via the back door of the hotel to avoid paying, leaving drivers out of pocket and frustrated.

This update comes after a series of alerts were issued by the LTDA regarding this particular fare-dodger. The individual has developed an alleged reputation for his persistence and sometimes aggressive behaviour when confronted by drivers, making him a significant concern for the taxi community.

The LTDA has been proactive in informing its members about the threat posed by this individual, advising them to be extra cautious when taking fares to the King’s Cross area, particularly to the Alhambra Hotel. Drivers are encouraged to take precautions, such as securing payment upfront, especially if the destination is known to be a hotspot for this kind of activity.

A Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA) spokesperson said via social media: “London’s most prolific bilker is still active. Favourite drop is now Alhambra Hotel Argyle St, Kings Cross. Goes out the back door.”
