The London Taxi Drivers' Charity for Children (LTCFC) has reported a year of triumphs and heartfelt contributions, highlighting the significant impact of its work in supporting the capital's most disadvantaged young ones.

Tony Moore, the Honorary Chairman, highlighted in his 2023 report a series of successful events, fundraisers, and the introduction of new initiatives aimed at enriching the lives of children across London.

In a notable achievement, the charity organised its annual Summer Outing, taking 160 children and 50 carers to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, thanks to the generosity of 60 volunteer taxi drivers. This event, a new destination for the LTCFC, received widespread praise from participants for its exceptional organisation and the joy it brought to the children involved. The success of the outing has secured its place in the charity's calendar for 2024.

Further enhancing its contributions, the LTCFC held the Annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London. This event saw 620 children and 250 carers enjoy a day filled with entertainment, from DJs to the Grenadier Guards’ Military Band, leaving participants with memories to cherish and special gift bags to take home.

The LTCFC's efforts extend beyond events, with significant fundraising achievements, including the funding of essential equipment for children with special needs. This includes a bespoke tricycle and specially designed tech tablets for a school’s special-needs unit, demonstrating the charity’s commitment to improving the quality of life for children and their families.

The year also saw the LTCFC bid farewell to long-standing committee member Larry Abrahams, whose retirement was marked with gratitude for his service. Conversely, the charity welcomed new members Louise Fowler and Stuart Murray.

The charity's work has not gone unnoticed, with LTCFC Committee Members being honoured with invitations to significant events, including the King's Coronation Garden Party, reflecting recognition of their contributions to the welfare of London's disadvantaged children.

Looking ahead, the LTCFC is poised for an exciting year, with ongoing support from volunteers, the public, and sponsors. The charity also anticipates the release of a documentary on Channel 4, showcasing the positive impact of London taxi drivers' charitable work, further highlighting the community's efforts to support those in need.
