Manchester taxi driver assaulted outside city centre hotel as police appeal to identify men

Greater Manchester Police are appealing to identify a group of men believed to be able to assist with an investigation into the assault of a taxi driver in Manchester city centre.

The incident happened outside The Rex Hotel on King Street between 11.30pm and 11.55pm on 17 June. According to GMP City Centre, the taxi driver suffered injuries including a swollen nose and a sore neck during the assault.

In a public appeal, the force said: “We would like to speak to these men as we believe they can help with our investigation of assault on a taxi driver outside The Rex Hotel, King Street, Manchester between 11:30 and 11:55pm on 17 June.”

Police are asking anyone who recognises the men pictured, or who has information about the incident, to contact them by calling 101 or using the live chat service on the Greater Manchester Police website, quoting reference CRI/06A2/0017843/26.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111. The investigation remains ongoing.
