Members of the public detain man who was assaulting taxi driver that refused a 15 mile trip for £5
A man has been successfully arrested after members of the public stepped in to detain him as he was assaulting a taxi driver over a fare dispute.
The incident, which occured in Stechford, Birmingham, during the early hours of Sunday 7 June, was highlighted by West Midlands Police Force Response team on their official Twitter account.
According to the police report, the man attacked the taxi driver because he refused to take him on a 15 mile journey for only £5.
The level of injury sustained by the taxi driver has not been reported.
The police's 'Force Response' team, said: "Stechford A Unit officers arrested a male earlier who assaulted a taxi driver for refusing to take him on a 15 mile journey for just £5.
"Members of the public intervened and detained the offender until officers arrived who arrested the offender."
