Ride-hail app Uber have now launched their latest service 'Uber Reserve' in the UK, following its initial launch stateside.

Passengers will be able to reserve an Uber vehicle up to 30 days in advance in three major UK locations; London, Manchester and the South West.

Uber Reserve is currently only available for Exec and Lux bookings. Passengers can reserve an Exec or Lux trip up to 30 days in advance and at least 2 hours in advance.

An Uber Reserve trip is reserved and a driver assigned in advance of the trip time. Once a driver has been assigned to the trip, the fare is then locked and will not change, the company has said.

In addition, the driver will also arrive 15 minutes before the pick up time that's been scheduled. The trip fare includes a 'Reservation Fee' of £5, which covers the additional waiting time.

If a passenger cancels a 'Reserve' trip less than 1 hour before pick up, they will be responsible for the full trip fare.

Uber’s European General Manager, Jamie Heywood, said: "As the UK emerges from lockdown, we’re launching more features and products to help make everyday life easier.

"We have listened to riders who have told us they want the peace of mind of being able to book trips in advance and know that their driver will arrive early and wait for them, which is why we are launching Uber Reserve."
